NOIDA: Thousands of middle-income families who have booked housing units in Noida Extension got a monsoon cheer as the NCR Planning Board cleared the Greater Noida Master Plan so that construction can resume on their dream homes. For the past year-and-a-half, the investment made by them by saving every paisa they could seemed to be going nowhere ever since the land acq
uisition row broke out in Greater Noida putting residential projects in disarray.

The buyers fought court battles, staged rallies, resorted to dharnas and strived hard to ensure their homes see the light of the day. And finally, on Friday evening their untiring efforts bore fruit.

Even though they came from diverse backgrounds, living miles apart from each other, buyers stood shoulder to shoulder with each other during the crisis. They formed groups and took their battle to the Allahabad high court in July last year, impleading upon the judiciary that they would be doomed to a life of financial crisis, given that they had exhausted their savings and were under the burden of housing loans, if their dream homes came crumbling down.

With construction on stalled housing projects finally going to take off, for homebuyers, the concept of affordable housing in the NCR region would no longer be a mirage. “A big roadblock has been removed. It’s a red-letter day in the life of each individual who has booked a housing unit in Noida Extension,” said secretary of Noida Extension Flat Buyers’ Welfare Association, GL Sagar.

On Friday evening, social networking sites began to flood with messages of the master plan being cleared as buyers began sending congratulatory posts to each other. The Noida Extension Flat Owners and Members Association (NEFOMA) had not only kept the pressure up on the authorities for the clearance of the master plan, but had also kept its members informed of every minor development on the issue through its page on Facebook.

NEFOMA is trying its level best to save the Noida Extension Dream Housing Project.For this NEFOMA has gone a level ahead and started discussing with all those farmers who too want the development of the area. We have also planned to conduct the press conference with them very soon and will try to influence as many farmers as possible.

Parallely we are putting pressure on NCRPB and GNIDA through RTI , continued letters , meetings and protest to pass the Master Plan and resolve the matter soon.
